Bai Sri is a traditional offering in the auspicious rites to pay homage to deities and to strengthen the kwan (soul), It is made of banana leaves and flowers, the simply natural materials available in village. There are various size and designs of Bai Sri. One person can make a small one but the several tiers must be made by a group of villagers. It is an opportunity to unite and hand down the neatly skill of making Bai Sri from elderly to next generation. Bai Sri makers intend to make it very neat and beautiful to be worthy of worship sacred powers.

บายศรีเป็นเครื่องประกอบพิธีกรรม ในการบวงสรวงเทพยดา สู่ขวัญ และงานบุญต่าง ๆ ทำจากใบตองและประดับด้วยดอกไม้ ซึ่งล้วนเป็นวัสดุจากธรรมชาติที่หาได้ง่ายในหมู่บ้าน ขนาดและรูปแบบของบายศรีมีหลากหลาย บายศรีขนาดเล็กแบบง่ายๆ สามารถทำคนเดียวได้ ถ้าเป็นบายศรีขนาดใหญ่ที่ประกอบขึ้นหลายชั้นชาวบ้านจะรวมกลุ่มช่วยกันทำ ผู้ที่ทำส่วนใหญ่คือผู้หญิง ซึ่งเป็นโอกาสในการถ่ายทอดความรู้จากผู้สูงอายุที่มีความชำนาญไปสู่คนรุ่นใหม่ ผู้ทำจะทำด้วยความตั้งใจเพื่อให้งานออกมาประณีตและงดงามควรค่ากับการบูชาสิ่งศักดิ์สิทธิ์
